Jasmine, rose, labdanum, musk.. these words cannot begin to conjure the magic of the scents behind the names. This one-day class will unveil the secret world of natural perfume. Students will have the opportunity to smell, touch and feel the raw materials, absolutes, attars and oils that have exhilarated us for millenia. The concepts of perfume construction will be discussed from top, middle and base notes to accords and dry down. We will look at the options for natural perfumes from alcohol to carrier oils and consider both the ups and downs of modern synthetic fragrances.
